While expanding our province's housing stock is an important goal, it cannot be achieved by stripping regulations meant to protect our native wildlife and ecosystems.
Though it may come as a surprise to some, we actually inhabit and depend on the exact same wild places as the endangered species this bill aims to cast aside. Protecting and nurturing a healthy natural environment is critical not only to the well-being of those ecosystems, but to the viability of human societies, meaning it is vital to all of us.
This bill will negatively impact endangered species and human environmental health, and should be not be passed as it is currently written. More care must be taken to protect our province's natural resources, including the wildlife that call Ontario home. Once those species are gone, we cannot bring them back.
