Getting rid of the requirement for an environmental assessment ( eg. proposed Dresden dump site & Ring of Fire mine) is not in the environment's best interests.
Moreover, the repeal of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act, 2007, tears away significant protections for endangered, threatened and special concern species in Ontario.
We should not concentrate more power in the hands of the Premier, his Cabinet, and privileged developers by exempting them from abiding by existing provincial and municipal laws ( Environmental Bill of Rights, etc. ).
Finally, we should cooperate with all nations including China to build up clean energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage, ... ), so as to get off our dependence on imported fossil gas from the U.S. , the burning of which endangers all species.
