I am opposed to this propsed legislation. Protection of species is of utmost importance for biodiversity, and the nature Ontario is famous for--and which attracts lucrative tourism. Protected biodiversity also improves crops--which are important for our economy. Strong environmental protections aid in our ability to better withstand climate heating effects such as worse and more frequent weather disasters. Protecting species is not in conflict with being economically successful. We need to modernize our definitions. Tho I will add, the current definition of "habitat" is not confusing, as stated. And the goverment should NOT have the authority to remove species from the protection list at all or ever.
