While recognizing that sometimes permit processes are not quick, this legislation appears to backtrack on years of proactive environmental protections. Protections that were put in place due to negative actions. History had shown that for profit ventures find it more expedient to act first and pay the fine later. The role of government is to ensure that this does not happen.
