Bill 5 is a horrendous infringement on the rights of the citizens of Ontario and the wildlife that live here. It bypasses protective laws - labour and environmental and treaty. It holds no one accountable for destruction of habitat. It does nothing but feed greed and destroy hope of climate sustainability. I'm sure now that no one involved in the creation of this bill has heard of a carbon sink. This term describes how forests and wetlands and peat bogs store carbon and prevent it's release into the environment - thus acting to slow global warming. What consideration is made for Indigenous Peoples in this Bill? We owe our very existence to a healthy environment. This Bill is one of the most undemocratic proposals I have ever witnessed in Ontario.
