The protection of endangered species is exactly the opposite to what has been happening everywhere in our contemporary world. Dangerously, we forget just how vital all forms of life are on this planet. Virtually all forms of life depend on an essential network and relationship with all other forms of life. The loss or diminishing of populations of living plants and wildlife today is dramatically and recklessly driving the world toward disaster for all forms of life.
The passing of Bill 5, the proposed interim changes to the current Endangered Species Act, is a perfect example of what must never happen for any form of life. Yet the present provincial government chooses to opt for disaster, to actions which have brought the world to this critical time in history, instead of a healthy and stable world for all of life including human life.
