I oppose Bill 5.
This is no time to reduce protections on endangered species or habitats for the sake of fast-tracking development projects that do not meet a rigorous standard of care for the surrounding environment. Public oversight should be required for any project that impacts the environment or endangered species - even and especially unregistered ones. The laws are in place for a reason - it is not within the provincial government's mandate to subvert the law via special "economic zones" for the sake of deregulating an industry that is not well enough regulated to begin with. The concept of a "special economic zone" is merely a loophole, easily abused to subvert democracy and regulation, in much the same way as the notwithstanding clause can be abused to subvert the charter.
