This Bill 5 proposal is utter nonsense. It is an attack on the future of the natural world in Ontario and an attack on the future of our grandkids and beyond. The definitions of habitat and dwelling etc. etc. are as ignorant of the natural world as they could be, and so far from basic elementary science that most grade 5 students could see right through the lies that they represent. The very name of the act is an affront to every citizen of Ontario. This government is truly hell bent to make as much money for developers as possible regardless of the cost to nature and our natural heritage, and they want to destroy democracy to do it. That "red tape" is the only thing we have to protect the future. The premier didn't want a new mandate to fight US tariffs. He wanted it to continue his path of destruction, with no real climate policy. He forgets that without a healthy environment you can't have an economy at all. The basis of any economy is clean air, and clean water, and healthy forests, and wetlands. the creatures which live "out there" take require much more space than the now have, which means we need less growth , not more, for a healthy future. Do the math with all the variables. To survive, a fox needs a large area, not just room for a den! Whoever wrote this bill was a idiot!
