I’m deeply frustrated with the direction this government, under Doug Ford, continues to take. Time and again, it feels as though short-term profits and personal gain are being prioritized over the long-term well-being of our environment, our communities, and future generations. These proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act — like the dismantling of the Greenbelt — seem less about thoughtful conservation and more about fast-tracking uninspired, poorly planned, profit-driven development. Ontario faces serious challenges that demand real leadership, and weakening environmental protections should not be one of them.
