I oppose bill 5. We need strong protections in place to maintain the environments that Ontario should be proud of.
Bill 5 prioritizes short-term profits over long-term sustainability. It undermines decades of work done by scientists, conservationists, and community advocates to build a legal framework that protects Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife and ecosystems. Granting industries loopholes to sidestep these protections sets a dangerous precedent and betrays the public trust.
We must be investing in stronger environmental protections, not dismantling them. I urge the province to reject Bill 5 and instead uphold Ontario’s responsibility to conserve our natural environment for current and future generations.
