Bill 5 represents a terrible miscarriage of justice and a gross abuse of power against the people of Ontario. The destruction of these natural areas would displace countless species, dismantle delicate ecological balances, and exacerbate climate instability—leading to flooding, extreme weather events, and long-term environmental degradation.
This bill does not serve the public interest. It prioritizes short-term gains for developers over the long-term sustainability of our communities, threatening clean air, drinkable water, and livable futures for generations to come. Ontario’s natural heritage is not a disposable asset—it is a shared trust. Bill 5 must be stopped to prevent catastrophic consequences for the environment, public health, and the fundamental rights of all who call this province home.
