I will simply quote someone else who said I "urge the Ontario government to withdraw Bill 5 in its entirety and instead work with environmental experts, Indigenous leaders and the public to strengthen — not dismantle — our systems of environmental protection. Protecting nature is not a barrier to economic growth. It’s the foundation of a healthy, resilient and just society."
I am concerned about the environment and what this Bill means for the future of Ontario and Canada. We need to begin to work cooperatively with others, including the environment, if we are going to survive. This is not a partisan issue. It concerns all creation.
It will take courage on the Government's part to stand down from this proposal, but it will take even more courage to keep us from destroyiny biodiversity and the foundations of our Common Good, which will be the next step. Please show the courage we need right now.
I was encouraged to write this through my reading of The David Suzuki Foundation materials
