I do not support Bill 5. Risking our wildlife for the pursuit of "development" is another word for uncontrolled destruction in favor of a - better ask for forgiveness, than permission approach. Which is not how we should handle our very delicate ecosystem.
If the indigenous peoples of Canada are against this, so should we.
There are better ways to go about reducing the time it takes to approve development. If Doug Ford is concerned with - "There's no longer time to sit around and wait 10 years as we do an [environmental assessment] and everything else." These processes take time, if he wants to speed things along recklessly slashing regulations only causes harm. Perhaps he should look to increase funding to develop better systems, improve communication and/or increase the efficiency of the paperwork.
