As a proud Canadian I am strongly against this Bill.
This proposal is a bad idea because it prioritizes development speed and economic convenience over the rigorous, science-based protections that endangered species require to survive. By allowing projects to proceed immediately after registration, without a full review. It severely weakens oversight and increases the risk of irreversible harm to vulnerable ecosystems. The removal of mandatory recovery plans, the ability for the government to override scientific classifications, and the narrowing of habitat definitions all create dangerous loopholes that could lead to the degradation or loss of critical habitats. Conservation should not be left to voluntary initiatives and post-hoc enforcement; proactive, enforceable safeguards are essential to prevent species extinction, not merely to respond to it.
People of this province pride themselves in the beauty of our forests and wildlife. Do not be the reason why we loose another thing that makes this province so rich and beautiful.
