Dear Premier Ford,
I am writing to express my strong frustration and disappointment with your government’s decision to drop Bill 5. This move is not only deeply concerning — it feels like a blatant disregard for democratic process and public input.
Bill 5 was introduced to address real concerns about the effectiveness and efficiency of our municipal systems. Whether one agreed with the bill or not, it was a serious legislative step that deserved follow-through, consultation, and accountability — not to be quietly dropped behind closed doors.
The decision to walk away from this bill sends a disturbing message that the voices of Ontarians, and the promises your government made, can be ignored at will. Frankly, it erodes trust. The public deserves transparency, not political maneuvering.
I urge you to explain this decision to the people you serve and reconsider this course of action. Ontarians are paying attention — and we expect better.
