I oppose Bill 5. We need stronger environmental protections to ensure the health and safety of Ontario residents vis-a-via biodiversity restoration and the protection of our green spaces and all that are part of it. I oppose shortcuts for industry. The economic damage to Ontario that would be caused by lost biodiversity would be detrimental. The agriculture, water, energy, materials production, health care, and more sectors would see massive permanent losses and decreased productivity. This bill’s attempt to create exceptions for industry will only harm them in the long run. It’s a lose-lose. We need the opposite of Bill 5. We need more thorough environmental protections.
