Doug Ford and his government are overstepping with this bill. The government is supposed to represent the people of Ontario, and by removing the public's right to comment and express opinion, he is taking away our rights. It is unacceptable to try to silence those that have different opinions than him. It is not democracy. His only concern is making his rich friends in the development industry richer, with no concern to the impacts this has on the daily lives of the people of Ontario, both today and in the future. The negative impacts of the Ontario Place redevelopment on the people and wildlife that live around the area are unacceptable. A link to an article about the original plan for sewage is included. Groups were able to successfully oppose this plan due to their rights under the Environmental Bill of Rights. Now the government is trying to change that so that their actions can go unchecked moving forward. This is completely unacceptable. The residential areas close to Ontario Place have also been impacted by coyotes, who were forced to relocate when their dens were destroyed by the Ontario Place development. It is essential that the people impacted directly have a chance to review the proposals and voice their opinions. Embracing the opinions of others and making decisions that consider the bigger picture is what being a true leader is. This is not how Doug Ford's government acts. They are acting like a bully with single minded focus on profit and instead of embracing discussion they are choosing to silence it.
