This is a downright terrible idea. This landfill could 2/3 the size of Chatham. This alone is completely unacceptable in rural areas. The leaching pond of the landfill would be connected into Molly’s creek and Molly’s creek floods 4-5 times a year. If that were to happen it would flood into one of the Great Lakes drainage rivers. Meaning the largest landfill that takes care of all waste across Ontario’s toxins would leak into the drainage of one of the biggest lake systems on the entire planet. The way the pollution would circulate the atmosphere and would stink up Chatham Kent would be catastrophic to our towns and humanitarian safety. Not only would this bring Dresdens property value down, but would lower the quality of farming in the nearby area due to the toxins of the landfill. Not only will this lower the value of Chatham-Kent. But will completely remodel the very laws our country and province were built upon. This is unjust and there is a multitude of methods to solve this issue.
