This is absurd to suggest this proposed change. It is going in the opposite direction of what is needed. Endangered species are a sensitive group and to start encroaching on their habitat without prior approval is reckless. The ecosystem needs to be protected. There is lots of land in Ontario that can be looked at prior to and businesses can start to accommodate workers with more remote/hybrid opportunities rather than continuing to overpopulate metropolitan cities and their surrounding suburbs. I very much understand the need for housing but this is not the right approach. What about aiming to make office type jobs remote and give businesses a tax break who meet to goal? There are many jobs where people do not need to go into an office but their bosses want to micromanage them and force them to come in. Remote work increases productivity of the worker, reduces road congestion and gives people the opportunity to live in less expensive towns. Please say no to this proposed change and explore other opportunities. This has potential to be exploited by home builders and other stakeholders by putting profits over the environment.
