I would like to write this message on behalf of myself as someone who cares deeply about nature but also understands that housing, transit, and critical infrastructure projects will be always be a part of an expanding world, but there needs to be some sort of compromise between the two. It is my understanding that we have a system already that is a compromise between the two, which involves a proper study to make sure that we're not destroying habitats ignoring the main tenants of conservation to ensure that projects (that can be argued if they are necessary at all - i.e. dumb tunnels under existing highways and Doug Ford helping his developer friends get their hands of the expanding development of the future here in Ontario). I've lived in southern Ontario my whole life And have witnessed projects that have destroyed ecosystems and natural wetlands and the list goes on, because the goal of trying to adjust the Endangered Species Act is to make it easier to bypass any conservatory or reasonable approach to development favouring instead money making entities that have no interest in protecting the well-being of the nature in this province. It can be argued that caring about the environment and nature areas is not the job of the developers - BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHY PROTECTING THESE ACTS IS IMPORTANT TO ENSURE SOMEONE IN THE OFFICIAL PROCESS IS THINKING ABOUT ENDANGERED SPECIES, PROTECTED NATURE AREAS, AND GIVE A VOICE TO THE VOICELESS. I would honestly say that the way that it is already set in place is letting them off a bit too easy ... projects like this shouldn't be able to be expedited in this way. Projects should be planned IN ADVANCE ... anything that is done in a spur of the moment - trying to do it as fast as you can - is almost guaranteed to be improperly planned and ignorantly designed. In the end I would personally take the side of nature and animals and plants over people who want to make more money. These people don't care about defenseless animals, or vital ecosystems.. To those people they are simply something in the way that is delaying their money making process.

Please reconsider, and please be careful with Doug Ford and his approach to Ontario. He does not care about this province like the rest of us do, and I think within the government there should be some people with good intentions that will see through his casual but forceful approach, and put Ontario above private interests.

Thank you very much!
