The Ford government doesn’t care about the environment. Affordability is absolutely connected to climate change. Natural disasters destroy homes, increase Insurance costs (have even caused insurance companies to forego coverage in areas), increase AC bills, and increase the cost of food.

We can’t develop like the old days when the environmental costs weren’t considered. Our livelihood depends on biodiversity. We need to protect our watersheds. Our livelihood depends on clean water. We have to develop with long term intention.

This government has shown many times over the mistakes that occur when supervision, assessment, transparency and oversight are disregarded. Their most recent debacle being the Therme Group.

We are at such a pivotal time. I am not a pessimist. I am a realist. The decisions made today have to be made with the utmost care.
