Our family opposes the proposed exemptions from the Environmental Bill of Rights that will deny us our right to be advised of, or to comment on, any required permits at Ontario Place.
The proposal is not in our interest, or the broad public interest. The proposal compromises the future of this critical waterfront site. It serves only to benefit the private interests of foreign companies and a few local architects and developers. It is inconsistent with the values of environmental protection and the voter’s rights to be informed about what the government is doing. We strongly object to the proposed exemptions.
