Guys. What are we doing here.
How can we expect to keep developing Toronto and expect not to have an overload on our public services. We are causing our own demise by not developing and supporting the economies of the northern regions
If we can't both develop things to better our citizens, and protect the environment, than the planning and organizing we are doing is not for the benefit of the people , but of those who hold our planet in low regard.
Sure Doug, I get it. It's just some frogs and there's some land for us to develop on, in an area that is in desperate need of housing. While today it may sadly be the removal of our environmental protections, tomorrow it may be to take advantage of our bodies of water. As a Canadian citizen who went through our education system, our environment and the duty to protect it, was viewed as an integral value of Canada as a whole.
There are options that I'm afraid may not benefit the land owners of vast swaths of land deemed of environmental significance.
There are alternatives that can work, as well as things that have been in/currently in place , that can be supported, changed to have less red tape, and given proper funding to see these initiatives succeed.
Please just consider listening to Canadians to protect the Greenbelt and reconsider.
If we can stimulate the traffic of our Northern regions, Ontario can excel from Cornwall to Kenora
