I am writing to strongly express my strong opposition to Bill 5. The measures that protect endangered species are of utmost importance, and I firmly believe that rushing these critical protections undermines our commitment to biodiversity and environmental stewardship.
Firstly, I vehemently oppose the fast-tracking of legislation that impacts our natural heritage. Endangered species are a vital part of our ecosystems, and we cannot afford to diminish the safeguards that have been established to protect them. Stronger environmental protections should be our priority, rather than allowing shortcuts for industry that could lead to irreversible harm.
Furthermore, I am particularly concerned about the proposal to override existing laws within special economic zones. This sets a dangerous precedent that could undermine conservation efforts and erode public trust in our environmental regulations.
We must uphold our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. I urge you to reconsider the implications of Bill 5 and to prioritize the preservation of endangered species and ecosystems in the decision-making process.
Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.
