Hello there,
For nearly 20 years, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) has protected Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife. But a proposed new Bill 5 “Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act” would repeal the Endangered Species Act entirely.
If passed, this bill will:
🛑 Strip habitat protections
🛑 Eliminate recovery strategies
🛑 Allow developers to destroy habitat with zero oversight
🛑 Allow discretion about what species deserve protection
A basking log is not a habitat. A single plant is not a forest. Species at-risk deserve better. OUR PLANET deserves better.
Please represent your inhabitants, both human and nonhuman! Do not support Bill 5!
