This bill should streamline environmental regulations to make their consideration more transparent and efficient. However, this should not mean that special economic zones are exempt from their consideration. Nor should protections of endangered species be abandoned. This is the kind of behaviour that successive Ontario governments have eschewed because it will destroy forever the patrimony that is the most essential responsibility of government to protect for future generations of Ontarians and the land itself.
It is contrary to 7 generations thinking, only considering the immediate needs of this generation and not the folk 6 generations hence.
