The assumption that an animal needs o ly its den to survive is asinine.
Animals have ranges—the traditional meaning of habitat—of varying sizes in which they forage and hunt for food.
If they lose these ranges they will lose their food source and starve to death. But hey, at least they can die in their protected den.
This proposed changes needs to be stopped. This is like the Greenbelt scandal all over again but on a provincial scale.
Development and the profits to be gained from it must not come at the expense of endangered and at risk species. Once they are gone, they are gone for good.
Follow the money—who stands to benefit from these changes and what is their connection to the Ontario Government.
