As a university graduate in the field of biology and a person who works in wildlife conservation, I disagree with this and do not support it. The Endangered Species Act (ESA) has been protecting vulnerable wildlife for decades and I will not support it being repealed for profit. The current definition of “habitat” does not create ‘confusion’ as claimed in this proposal. A single area to den, bask, or lay is not a habitat. There is nothing confusing about that. These entire ecosystems are critical habitat for endangered and vulnerable species. Allowing harm, removal of species, destruction of habitat, etc. with a permit proves that this proposal is based on nothing else but profit and capitalistic greed.
