In reading today’s Chatham Daily News about the recent reversal relative to the need for an environmental assessment, I support MPP Hsu’s request that the Integrity Commissioner look into whether Premier Ford and the Ministers involved with this matter used their office to further the private interests of political donors. Also, I would encourage the Commissioner to investigate whether the politicians involved provided preferential treatment or special access to individuals/entities that then resulted in this disheartening change relative to the need for an assessment to take place. Please allow no stone to go unturned relative to this matter so that the citizens of Dresden don’t feel like the Province’s dumping ground. Landfills often have an odour associated with them and this about-face by Premier Ford and the MPPs involved is beginning to stink too.
