Bill 5 is a direct attack on the rights of the people and animals that inhabit Ontario. I strongly oppose this bill as a resident from the Kitchener area who has seen the decreases of green spaces even in my 20 year lifetime and can see through this thinly veiled attempt at revoking fundamental rights of Ontarians. I want to make it very clear that any attempt of the Ontario government to decrease protections for endangered species is a step towards ruining Ontario’s delicate ecosystems for profit. In no reasonable world is it anything short of reprehensible and morally bankrupt to attempt to systematically decimate the beautiful nature of Ontario for “special economic zones” and furthering the agendas of the wealthy developers who Doug Ford has been pandering to for his entire tenure. I refuse to accept this “reform” as anything other than rolling back fundamental and crucial supports for the environment and spaces that we inhabit.
