I firmly disagree with this proposed change to how endangered species are protected, particularly with the part about the list of endangered species being at the discretion of the government. This act proposes to balance the needs of the environment with the needs of the economy but the process and protections it eliminates will only harm the environment while removing barriers to industry. This, coming at a time when our environment is in critical condition, is all the worse. We need protection for endangered species now more than ever.
