I reject these amendments to the act. When it comes to the environment, it is better to take too long in assessing the possible harms than to rush into building and digging and construction that causes irreversible damage and change.

The housing shortage is not caused by the length of time environmental assessments take, but rather by the longstanding lack of will on the part of the provincial Conservative government to instigate and encourage the building of affordable and geared-to-income housing in Ontario cities.
