I am strongly opposed to this bill. The public must retain the right to learn, understand, provide input into and challenge development proposals. The environment must be protected. There are sensitive habitats being destroyed only to cater to the wealthy. This is not in the public’s interests. The process needs to be transparent. The government is supposed to work for and answer to the public, not private corporations. Proper, thorough reviews by professionals and the public and holding the government and private corporations accountable is critical. This is democracy. Removing the rights of the people to have a say in how their land is used, is not.
