We, the citizens of Ontario, disturbed by past irresponsible, incompetent and unethical activity concerning development (in the case of the current Provincial Conservative Government, the Greenbelt, Ontario Place and Ontario Science Centre debacles) oppose Bill 5, in particular the repealing of the Endangered Species act, and its replacement with a "process" which purports to protect species, but in reality removes existing important protections while also removing or hamstringing time-tested due diligence components to lawful development and infrastructure projects. We have seen governments avoid, ignore, distort or directly oppose expert and public opinion (such as in the cases cited above) and believe this to be inappropriate in a democratic society. This is our province, Premier - we elected you, and we expect you to work for us.
