As an indigenous environmental science student at the University of Guelph, as a caring Ontarian, and as somebody that believes in the processes in place for protecting our environment, I strongly opposed bill 5.
Passing this bill would leave species at risk in greater danger, it would affect farmland and biodiversity safehavens, and it would impact indigenous rights during an ongoing pursuit of reconciliation.
This bill moves Ontario in the wrong direction.
The people of Ontario do not want bill 5 passed.
