Please Stop Bill 5.
In order to speed up development, the government should have strong and clear environmental, health and safety and municipal laws that are known to developers. Set a hefty fine for not meeting the laws. If the guideline is there, and the enforcement from the government is there, developers will begin to propose development that meets those guidelines rather than create development that opposes them. Development and industry needs to work hand in hand with this beautiful province, honouring Indigenous people, honouring the citizens of Ontario, honouring the wetland, and all the species that live here. Give incentives to developers who protect the environment, who work hand in hand with the community they are wanting to build in. It is time to work together to protect Ontario for future generations. STOP BILL 5, and the power grab that it gives to a select few.
