This is utterly disappointing. As a citizen, I had hoped for greater levels of competency and understanding from members of government who control what is done to our population's environment. Habitats extend beyond the immediate dwelling place of any species; a human is not confined to their room... If a person gets physically harmed by any means the entire ECOSYSTEM OF THE BODY is affected, the same occurs for any species. We cannot assume that an animal's habitat is isolated to their presently occupied space and are unable to quantitatively predict the sheer amount of damage that would come from ignoring such principles.
We cannot assume that these actions would not have longstanding effects for both the species they immediately impact, which would trickle down to humans as a result. The removal of the concept of "harass" from species protection additionally goes against implemented indigenous legislation.
This demonstrates assumed ineptitude of the Canadian population, anyone who takes the time to read the proposed act would have the competency of understanding this is wrong.
I'm absolutely disgusted.
