I live in Toronto, Ontario. I am very concerned about changes to Planning Act. Under no circumstances should municipal governments be allowed to circumvent environmental acts for the purposes of development whether for employment, retail, or residential needs. This puts the fragile ecosystems in danger. It puts our drinking water in danger. It puts the sustainability of our province in danger for short-sighted economical gains. The futures of our children are not worth risking just so you can say you lowered the deficit. Once these ecosystems are paved over, the damage can never be undone.
