Economic development is important for human development but not at the cost of our environmental livelihood. Without a healthy environment, we cannot grow economically. This bill seems to completely abolish environmental and ecological reviews with the sole purpose of economic gain. Humans can only operate in balance with our environment and this seems to propose a removal of balance in favour of economical development that will only benefit those who are already prosperous.
Please consider our future as Canadians and human beings. Once our environment and beautiful country are destroyed for economic gain, we cannot go back.
There are better and alternative ways to increase economic growth without destruction and even the chance at reviewing projects from science and the public.
This bill is unacceptable and should not proceed.
