I oppose bill 5, public consultation should always be a part of decision making when altering any type of habitat, let alone build new infrastructures. Species habitats are complex and cannot be so easily categorized as described in bill 5. I disagree with overriding the law in special economic zones, these zones must be carefully evaluated and reveive public oversight as well. Endangered species, along with natural habitat, have intrinsic value and must be protected with strict regulation. Indigenous people must also be consulted, and impact assessments are necessary for any project which will alter the environment/ surrounding habitat.
