I oppose Bill 5. Rather than reduce current, and frankly insufficient ecosystem and species’ protections we need to use this opportunity to fortify our environment and continue to transition towards ways of business and living that respect the planet we live on and the other species we share it with. We should absolutely not be allowing industries and companies that are purely profit-motivated to further decimate the natural habitats that many species rely on. If the permit process causes delays, perhaps that should be assessed in a way that will benefit everyone and the land we live on, instead of lining corporate pockets.
