I am against Bill 5.
I believe that Ontario needs better environmental protection, not worse. The climate crisis is worsening and some of the damage, such as species extinction, will be irreparable, no matter how well our economy is doing.
Giving the government the ability to add or remove species from the list of protected species is scientifically indefensible. Politicians do NOT have the expertise to make those kinds of decisions.
This legislation will damage Ontario's environment and its long term economic prospects. No amount of money can help us if we have a degraded environment.
