As an Ontario resident I am deeply concerned about proposed changes to the acts targeted by Bill 5. I am particularly disturbed by narrowing of the definition of habitat to disclude potential recovery areas. I live in rural Ontario, and the last thing I want to see is projects streamlined in our beautiful natural landscape without sufficient impact assessments and with disregard for Endangered or at risk species. This is especially more egregious in an urban context, where natural habitat is dwindling at an unsustainable rate. The changes proposed in Bill 5 should be rejected outright for their blatant lack of concern for our natural environment in Ontario.
