I am against this bill that…

I am against this bill that reduces and or eliminates developers environmental responsibility and removes the authority of municipal and local community input prior to approval. Without consultation and without adherence to the existing environmental protections all green spaces including provincial parks are at risk. This also can remove needed farmland to feed our future expanding population, which is extremely short sighted.
What this provincial government requires is a reorganization to put the largest list of ministers to work vs sitting in the house avoiding questions. Put them to work on each project to ensure the existing process is speedy and comprehensive. If they are incapable or unwilling to perform this function, then they need to be replaced, with people willing to put our tax dollars to work.
Every citizen of Ontario wants results not excuses or delays, but we are unwilling to give up our environment or the protection of endangered species.
This bill could endanger our fresh water by allowing project ts and companies to ignore safety measures, like tailings ponds unable to contain a 200 year rainfall - which we know are happening more and more often. Water contamination is a risk not only to the local population but this bill eliminates the required cleanup, thus every taxpayer and citizen is then on the hook for this cleanup - ie orphan wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan with all Canadians are now paying for. All companies must have insurance to cover catastrophic failures causing environmental damage. They cannot take the money from our resources without any responsibility.
