I live near Ontario Place. I’ve seen firsthand the devastation the construction has done to the wildlife there. Displaced coyotes now roam my neighbourhood. All the rare migrating birds who made their nests there have no home. The beautiful trees that helped purify our polluted air and provided homes for animals are gone. All this was done while the act was in place. I can’t imagine the devastation that will occur if the act is removed. Money isn’t everything. Why must we bulldoze our way through the natural habitats of species that have every right to life that we do? Is it because they don’t pay taxes? What will we leave our children? A barren land full of empty condos no one can afford to live in. I say no to scrapping the Endangered Species Act.
