I oppose this proposed change. If we want to have sustainable economic development we must ensure that our actions are sustainable for the environment that we depend on for resources. Strong biodiversity is a key to sustainability and government should not be modifying the list of protected species without oversight from science-based & conflict-of-interest-free organization. Nor would it make sense to weaken the definition of habitat and the likes to allow for more economic development to take place. The idea that we should be able to upset more of the environment and our biodiversity to have "sustainable" economic development is an oxymoron.
