I am concerned that this bill will mean no proper consultation would be required before moving forward with a project. That is a major red flag since we are living off of Indigenous land and have a duty to protect the lands in which we share and use. The reason we have the Clean Energy Act and Endangered Species Act is to protect the lands to ensure they are healthy for our future generations and that we are doing the best we can to act and manage the climate crisis.

Ontario is a very special place that contains 1/3 of Canada's surface fresh water and it is the most biodiverse province! We must do everything we can to protect the green spaces that provide us humans and animals in the ecosystem everything we need to survive and thrive. Our green spaces provide so much ecological services from cleaning our air, water, providing habitat, reducing flooding and other natural disaster affects, storing a lot of carbon, and so much more!

The intentions of the bill are to turn a blind eye on the science and importance of our natural spaces. We cannot construct our way back to the way it was if we realize the damage has already been done to these spaces, that is why the acts and proper way of assessments are vital before doing any construction.

I am greatly concerned for the health and wellbeing of humans, plants, and animals if we don't stop this bill.
