Bill 5 is everything young Canadians don’t want for our future—and Doug Ford is counting on us being too distracted to notice. While international headlines steal the spotlight, he’s quietly pushing through legislation that guts environmental protections, disrespects Indigenous sovereignty, and paves over our land for short-term profit. This bill is a developer’s dream and a generational nightmare.
It sells out our forests, waters, and farmland. It ignores housing solutions that actually work for people, not just profit. It bulldozes over the rights of Indigenous communities who have been stewards of this land for centuries.
Young Canadians are watching—and we’re not fooled by backdoor politics. We want a future rooted in sustainability, equity, and truth. Bill 5 is none of that. It’s theft. It’s betrayal. And we won’t forget.
