It is distressing that the Ford government is taking steps to actively and consciously destroy essential habitats, not only for species at risk, but the entire ecosystem. The failure of the government to properly allocate funds for housing and infrastructure should not impact the ecosystems of species that are helpless to excavators and concrete. Ford showed us, the taxpayer (his client), his ease and willingness to benefit his property development friends during the Greenbelt deal fiasco. Now he is showing the irresponsibility with which his government is using taxpayer dollars of all of Ontarians to destroy the long-standing ecosystem of Ontario Place and take away free, accessible green space to all Ontarians. The government should strongly consider re-evaluation of their funding allocation and priorities and not take steps to destroy already sensitive environments and species. The existing infrastructure in this province is already on a serious decline. Better fix what's broken before breaking more things in your path.
