The proposal summary shows the government complaining about the lengthy and complicated process for protection and conservation of at-risk species. The government claims that any delays and incurred costs caused are "unnecessary" for housing, transit, and other critical infrastructure. This could not be further from the truth. Are at-risk species and environmental conservation not also critical? Do plants and other animals not deserve the same care and protection as humans? Environmental preservation should be incredibly detailed and specific - it should not be able to be planned quickly. Repealing current legislation would cause enormous harm to local nature and demonstrate that the government cares more about corporate profit than anything else. Truly disgusting.
